Los Angeles/Orange County Workforce Development Leaders (LOWDL) is comprised of Deans and Directors of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Economic Development Programs. Faculty/staff from college programs are also encouraged to participate. LOWDL meets monthly during the academic year and is responsible for reviewing and recommending for approval Career and Technical Education Programs. Focus of program approval is labor market data as well as to avoid destructive competition among other CTE programs in the region. Workshops that focus on federal, state as well as local initiatives are included in the monthly meetings.
The Los Angeles and Orange County Region contains twenty eight (28) colleges in Region 7 and Region 8. Activities support communication among the 28 colleges as well as with the Systems Office (previously known as California Community College Chancellor’s Office).
